Open Book

For visually impaired patrons, the Library has a computer station with the ability to convert scanned text into speech. The station consists of a PC, a scanner, headphones, and Arkenstone's "Open Book Ruby Edition" software. Although this software is not flawless, it does have a high enough degree of accuracy to make it a very valuable tool for those who would not otherwise be able to read printed material.
