Library Card
Any resident or property owner of Chaves County, may apply for a library card by meeting the following guidelines:
Have a clear record in respect to fines from overdues, lost books, etc.
Be able to establish his identity and verify current address by furnishing proper identification.
Proof of identity may be any of the following:
Roswell Public Library card
Valid driver's license
Automobile or voter's registration
Organizational membership card
Military identification
Known by staff member
Proof of address may be a utility bill or letter addressed to the applicant and cancelled within the last month at the post office, or any of the above proofs of identity which shows his current address.
A new applicant may check-out up to three (3) books at the time of his application.
Children under age 15 may acquire a library card with parent's permission.
Visitors to our community may acquire a temporary card with a refundable deposit. Patrons of neighboring communities may use their local library's card if their library participates in our reciprocal borrowing agreement.
All circulating Print Material, CDs, Talking Books and Cassettes may be checked out for two weeks.
Videos may be checked out for 3 days.
